Amy Healy

Amy Healy is an artist based in Seattle, WA, who specializes in whimsical illustrations and collages.

She studied art at Scripps College in Chicago majoring in mixed media and painting. In school, Healy primarily painted abstract landscapes and worked in large formats. She then worked in the graphic design and marketing department of Trillium Corporation in Bellingham. After a hiatus from her art career, Healy continued producing, exploring lots of different art mediums including graphic design, acrylic large-scale paintings, letterpress, and fiber arts, to name a few.

A keen observer of her surroundings, Healy turned to small scale because of its simplicity and practicality. Taking everyday items around her, such as feathers, spools empty of thread, Christmas ornaments, and scraps of paper, the artist uses them to produce playful and colorful works. Although her works reveal her whimsical, fun and open personality, Healy’s art is also a manifestation of her tact and elegance as an artist.
